Meeting less often

Louis feels that maybe we shouldn’t meet as often as we do. Perhaps we can only meet when we have events to plan for. We may even be able to have a special smaller group for planning a men’s breakfast.

Pastor’s Message to the Council

God is telling pastor to get involved with the leadership of the men’s ministry. Pastor will be taking lead when Joe steps down at the end of December. God has tasked Rick with training up the leadership in the men. Rick said he believes we need to set the foundation of the men’s ministry as prayer. We should be spending an extended period of time together in prayer. Before we decide on any events, we should set a date and place to spend time praying for direction from God. The council tentatively decided to shoot for Thursday the 13th of November at 7:00 pm. Rick also recommended the council read a book by author Neil Anderson called Bondage Breaker. This book will help us establish a personal inventory to get rid of junk in our lives. In other words, this would be a cleansing. Sunday pastor will pass out material to go through before the 13th. It was also agreed upon that the council would fast on the 13th.

Next council meeting?

Next council meeting will be decided on the 13th.

Breakfast

For now, pastor will take charge planning breakfast. Louis was asking if Rick was still going to lead the breakfast? Pastor said they are one in the same.

Joe Wargo

Joe will be stepping down as Director of the Men's Council on the Saturday before thanksgiving. He hasn’t decided yet if he will be able to continue participating in the Men's Council.

Brother in Need

The council discussed a specific brother at the church in need of employment. There was a discussion on whether or not the council or Cornerstone church should ever be put in a position where we are endorsing or backing someone for employment. The council was in agreement that this could have the potential to be bad. Any recommendation should come from an individual person. For now, the safest thing would be to send out potential employment opportunities to everyone regardless of whether or not they are currently employed.
